police state they can't zoom in on cctv?

my car was hit in car pak and caught on cctv. police investigator says they can't get car number plate cos of angle on shop cctv as too far away, but they haven't zoomed in with their equipment as they don't feel its worth it. can i get this investigated further?

If it's important enough for them they can send the tape to America and get it re-processed. It's happened before in a recent murder case when they managed to get decent pictures of a car AND the driver from what had previously been "useless" cctv footage. Obviously they don't think that you are important enough to be bothered with. Well don British police, again..... NOT
