Digital Ultra
Comments (0) I'm looking for an affordable ultra compact digital camera, any suggestions? I'm leaning towards Olympus only because they tend to be all weather, but I'm not 100% sold on the brand. There are few others I'm looking at as well (Canon, Sony, Kodak, and Nikon). I would appreciate any comments and opinions. The Canon SD1000 is an amazingly effective camera for under $200. I own one and I have to say it was the best thing I have bought in a while. It takes great photos quickly, and has a very simple user interface. If you get into photography this also has a lot of fun settings to play around with. I bought mine from circuit city for about $175, but then after an extra battery, a 2GB memory card (you would really only need a 1GB card), and a case it came to about $300. You could keep the overall price down by just getting a 1GB card and not getting a case, but I do recommend buying an extra battery so you can switch them out when you need too.
